The DCC-10 is an electric vehicle energy management system (EVMS) that allows a charging station to be connected directly to a single-family home's electrical panel, which would otherwise not have sufficient capacity to allow the connection. How it works: The DCC takes a real-time reading of the energy consumption of the home or condo's electrical panel; - Detects when the total energy consumption exceeds 80% of the main circuit breaker's capacity and temporarily cuts off power to the charging station; - Automatically re-powers the charging station when the total consumption of the electrical panel is below 80% of its capacity for more than 15 minutes. The DCC allows energy to go to the station only if the total demand of the panel is below its maximum capacity. The Gen-3 of the DCC-10 has the ability to receive and transmit load shedding instructions from an external energy management system via a dry contact input and output.
