Description

The DCC-12 is an electric vehicle energy management system (EVEM) that allows a charging station to be connected directly to a single-family home electrical panel, which would otherwise not have sufficient capacity to accommodate the connection. Features: - Designed for indoor or outdoor installation. - Requires space available in the panel for a double-pole circuit breaker. - Unlike the DCC-9 and DCC-10, there is no circuit breaker inside the DCC-12 acting as an intermediary between the charging station and the electrical panel. The maximum amperage of the charging station is 60A. Operation: The DCC takes a real-time reading of the energy consumption of the electrical panel of the house or condo; - Detects when the total energy consumption exceeds 80% of the capacity of the main circuit breaker and temporarily cuts off the power to the charging station; - Automatically re-powers the charging station when the total consumption of the electrical panel is less than 80% of its capacity for more than 15 minutes. The DCC allows energy to go to the station only if the total demand of the panel is less than its maximum capacity. The Gen-3 of the DCC-12 has the ability to receive and transmit load shedding instructions from an external energy management system via a dry contact input and output.
